Kyma Fragrances
A luxury Indian perfume house selling online, where Indian botanicals meet modern perfumery — fragrances built for the way India actually lives, and for the heat and humidity it lives in.

The problem
Fragrance is the hardest thing to sell online, because the one thing that decides the purchase cannot travel through a screen. A shopper cannot smell Aravalli Allure before paying ₹1,999 for it, so every doubt has to be answered by the storefront instead — what it smells like, how long it lasts, and whether it survives an Indian summer.
The opening
The brand's own positioning was the answer to its conversion problem. Perfume engineered for heat and humidity is a claim no imported house makes, and IFRA certification, dermatological testing and vegan formulation are proof points that most fragrance storefronts bury three clicks deep.
How we approached it
- Sell the scent in words, since it cannot be sold in pixels
- Put the India-specific claim where the buying decision is made, not on an about page
- Use the credentials as conversion assets rather than compliance footnotes
- Remove the cost objection with prepaid and shipping incentives at the point of hesitation
What we built
- Shopify storefront for the full range — eau de parfum and soy wax candles
- Scent-led product pages carrying note structure, character and longevity
- Collections split by product type, with cross-sell between them
- Free shipping over ₹999 and a 5% prepaid discount surfaced in the flow
- Reviews and testimonials placed against the purchase decision
- Instagram and Facebook catalogue sync for social commerce
- Newsletter capture for a category that lives on repeat purchase
Inside the product
Scent-led product pages
Top, heart and base notes, character and longevity written out — the substitute for a tester strip, and the page that has to do the selling.
A range with a point of view
Aravalli Allure, Maharani's Essence, Midnight Cascade and Sapphire Ganges — each positioned by mood rather than by ingredient list.
Built for the climate
The heat-and-humidity claim runs through the storefront, because it is the one thing an imported fragrance cannot say.
Credentials as conversion
IFRA certified, dermatologically tested, cruelty-free and vegan, in recyclable packaging — surfaced where they answer a doubt.
Incentives at the hesitation point
Free shipping over ₹999 and 5% off prepaid orders, placed where the cart is abandoned rather than in the footer.
Candles as a second entry point
190g soy wax candles give a lower-commitment way into the brand, and a natural cross-sell from fragrance.
What it took
to build.
Custom Shopify theme
Built on Shopify so the client owns merchandising, pricing and collections without a developer in the loop for routine changes.
Merchandising for a scent catalogue
Note structure and scent character modelled as real product data, so pages stay consistent as the range grows.
Checkout incentive logic
Free-shipping thresholds and prepaid discounts expressed as rules that hold at the cart, not as copy that only claims them.
Performance on Indian mobile networks
A fragrance storefront is image-heavy by nature; assets and loading order are tuned for the connection most buyers are actually on.
Product schema for discovery
Structured product data so listings surface correctly in search and in answer engines, not only in paid placements.
Social commerce sync
Catalogue kept in step with Instagram and Facebook, so a product is buyable wherever the brand's audience already is.
